Changxing Island yard completes mega-max delivery
Shipbuilders at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, a major yard within the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) group, handed over a newly completed 24,000-TEU dual-fuel container carrier on 26 September 2026 following successful deep-water gas and sea trials in the East China Sea.
The vessel measures 399.9 metres in length overall and 61.3 metres in moulded breadth, matching the maximum dimensional envelope for ultra-large container vessels operating on the Far East to Northern Europe trade loop.

Mark III membrane LNG fuel containment
The ship features an 18,600-cubic-metre cryogenic fuel tank utilizing the GTT Mark III membrane containment system, allowing the giant vessel to complete round-trip voyages between Asia and Europe on a single LNG bunkering operation. The hull design incorporates energy-saving pre-swirl stator fins ahead of the propeller and a low-resistance bulbous bow tuned for slow-steaming operational profiles.
